INFLUENCE OF COMPACTION, MOISTURE CONTENT AND SHEARING VELOCITY ON THE SHEAR STRENGTH OF THE ASH-SLAG MIXTURE

Abstract: The work presents results of tests of shear strength of the ash-slag mixture from the Power Plant „Skawina”, at its various compaction, moisture content and at different shear velocities. It was stated, that the values of the angle of internal friction and cohesion increased with the rise of compaction for the assumed values of moisture content of the mixture and shearing velocity. However, the increase of the moisture content caused the decrease of the shear strength parameters for the assumed shearing velocities. The carried out tests make it possible to forecast the big usefulness of the mixture for road engineering purposes.
