ASSESSMENT OF THE RESULTS OF SOIL MOISTURE MEASUREMENTS CONDUCTED WITH THE GRAVIMETRIC METHOD AND THE TDR METHOD IN THE ODER VALLEY

Abstract:

The paper presents an analysis of results of measurements of moisture of three characteristic medium alluvial soils situated in the valley of the Oder river in the region of the constructed barrage in Malczyce. The measurements were taken at monthly intervals from April till October in the years 2010–2014, with parallel use of the gravimetric method and the TDR method. Correlations of the values of volumetric moisture were determined. The investigations have shown that obtained relationships were differentiated for each kind of soil. The correlation indicates strong relationship of the results obtained for sandy soils and weak/strong relationship for the loam soils.
